About the Cover Image...
This image is a composite image of stress fibers in red and FRET (Forster Resonance Energy Transfer) ratio within focal adhesions in color scale, in a living U373 human glioblastoma cell. The FRET ratio indicates the tension a certain kind of molecules are experiencing in focal adhesions in a time-course experiment (This image was taken at a different time from the cover image).
It is a good example demonstrating my multidisciplinary skills - using biophotonics (FRET) and image analysis (focal adhesion identification and segmentation) techniques to solve a cell mechanical problem.
To find out more about how the image was analyzed, check out the Image Analysis section.
To find out more about FRET and how this FRET probe quantifies molecular tension, check out the FRET section.
To find out more about the cell mechanical problem that we were solving, check out the Cell Mechanics section.
